At UCP, we provide life-changing, behavioral services to children with a diagnosis of autism — right here in Berkshire County. Every child in our Autism Program receives specialized therapy, known as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), focused on decreasing behaviors and designed to meet their unique needs.
To respect his privacy, we’ll call him Max, a bright and curious three-year-old little boy. When he first came to UCP, Max struggled to communicate or play with others. He often threw toys to get attention — his way of trying to connect. But actions instead of words couldn’t give him the voice he needed. Through ABA therapy, patience, compassion, and steady support, Max’s world began to open up. Today, he uses more than 50 words, plays with friends, follows routines, and even shares hugs. Every milestone reflects UCP’s dedication — and the generosity of donors like you — helping children reach their fullest potential.
